A Farewell to the Nation
The celebration for people outside Pakistan never wait for a legitimate reason, have we ever wondered why ?
One of a fellow Chinese gave me a valid answer.
He said, “we are healthy and happy because we have peace (no worries), in our lives.” True, but so painful when dug into the true meaning of “peace and no worries.”
This shook me inside out and I felt really sad for my countrymen. We come across daily with situations where people often are gathered and discussing, “mehngai barh gai hai, bijli nahi, pani nahi, aur ab gas bhi nhi.” Even the large hue and cry and huge protest is not turning up with anything from these cold blooded governmental officials.
The socio-political strain on our Nation with daily economic crises without monetary increments in employee’s monthly income and zero compensation on benefits like Bonus or Health insurance, burdening them with inflation rates making the life miserable for Average middle class families. This often leads to health and psychiatric issues, the main reason of overcrowded hospitals which in turn has a long list of mental shocks in “incremental dosages.”
The life of an ordinary Pakistani is just miserable under pile of stressors which makes his way of living impossible to cope up with. Often my Chinese fellows show their intention to visit Pakistan especially Karachi and believe me I am really apprehensive about guiding them the places, sometimes the situation becomes unavoidable and finally have to divert their focus away from Karachi by stressing on them the importance of visiting “Azad Kashmir”, elaborating its history and the tussle between India and Pakistan.
Yes, we are a complexed nation who resort help in fake entertainments like “dramas” and “movies”, and this certainly is successful in numbing our senses from the bitterness for some time.
We are a failed nation and the reason of this failure is the absence of “Administration”, “Policy making and implementation”, “Accountability and Lawlessness”, and only because of these failures we are dealing with the dreadful consequences on a daily basis. I fear these do not continue and this should stop before we become a history.
We are a deprived nation, deprived of “Access”, “Peace”, deprived of “right to a fair trial”, “right to governmental services”, “Security”, and deprived of “public facilities.” What one can expect from such a Nation who is being throttled everyday by one way or the other.
Pakistanis are in a continuous struggle, struggling to earn a better living for the loved ones, and for all the efforts pouring in under constraints, this Nation deserves “Respect”, for wrestling with the stressors in a way which is certainly out of the ordinary.
Someone said, “Human kindness has never weakened the stamina or softened the fiber of a free people. A nation does not have to be cruel to be tough.”
Bidding farewell to my people paving way for building their own standards.
